Sir Richard Charles Nicholas Branson or simply, Richard Branson is a one of the most popular and active billionaires in the world. This English business tycoon is the founder and chairman of the Virgin Group, which consists of over 300 companies in a variety of different industries from transportation to tech to finance and beyond.

Aside from his immense success in business, Richard proves to be an all-kill achiever even in his favorite sport, kitesurfing. He believes it is one of the best sports there is, if not the best. He said that seeing the beauty of all the kites up in the sky is so magnificent and he wants to recommend it to everyone. Just being out on the sea with the blowing wind and crashing waves is definitely an amazing experience.

Sir Richard has been all over the news for his successful, often bizarre attempts on the water sport. For one, in July 2012, he has become the oldest person to kitesurf across the English Channel. He made the journey from Dymchurch, Kent, to Wimereux in northern France with the duration of three hours, 45 minutes. It took two attempts in 24 hours but well, he was able to establish himself by setting a new Guinness World Record.

This 63 year old business magnate really has a knack for adventure and athletic fun. He also made a new record March of this year for the most people riding a kitesurf board. It was said to be part of a dare made by Richard s friend and German champion kitesurfer, Susi Mai. Richard and Susi, together with Alice Galliers of the UK and Alison DiSpaltro of USA, they set the record off the shoreline of Richard s private island of Necker.

Indeed, he is very passionate and interested in kitesurfing and sports in general.

In addition, here is a wild fact about Richard. He has caused a big stir when a picture of him kitesurfing with a naked woman clinging to his neck went viral. Some even claimed it was fake and the image was just manipulated. Nevertheless, it was real and crazy at the very least.

He has more out of the ordinary stunts under his sleeve. In 1987, he has set the record for the first hot air balloon to cross the Atlantic. Furthermore, in 1991, he was in the first balloon to cross the Pacific from Japan to Arctic Canada. From 1995 to 1998, he, Per Lindstrand and Steve Fossett even made attempts to circumnavigate the globe by balloon.

He is quite the thrill-seeking individual, don t you think?

There was also a time Richard dressed in drag for an Air Asia flight from Perth, Australia to Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, simply because he had lost a bet to Air Asia Group CEO Tony Fernandes! He ended up working as a flight attendant in a red skirt and false eyelashes.

His other Guinness World Records include the richest presenter of reality television and for the most followers on LinkedIn.

Now, let us wait and see what other tricks Sir Richard will show us!
